Cailleach – by Cheryl Cambras

Cailleach – black paper w/ corn husks. This new body of work by Cheryl Cambras is inspired by ceremonial textiles and visionary women like Paraskevi and Cailleach. Often persecuted for not following conventions, they are celebrated in this series of votive circles. Within each votive, Cheryl explores the protective powers of textiles and of the symbols connected with each woman named.
