Shipping & Returns
Returns for Store Credit: Goods such as home goods, books, etc can be exchanged for store credit or a new item within 10 days of purchase. All must be unused, in mint condition.
Final Sale: All Sale Items are final sale. All apothecary, pantry, paper goods and sale items are final sale.
To return items bought online, send an email to info@famofthings.com with a note as to why you are returning. We will provide return instructions, and you are responsible for return shipping fees. A credit will be issued as soon as the item is received.
If an item arrives defective or damaged, please contact us and include pictures within 48 hours at info@famofthings.com. Apologies, we cannot be responsible for lost packages.
Please note: All return shipping fees are non-refundable unless the product is determined to be defective or damaged.
We offer free ground shipping for domestic orders over $100, for shipping rates below $18. Use code 'freeship' at checkout.

For shipping, we aim to process and ship orders within 2-3 days. You will receive a notification when your order ships. Depending where you are, your order will likely take 3-7 business days to arrive after shipping. Shipping details are provided in your confirmation email.
For in-store pickup, orders will be ready within 24 hours or less Thurs – Sun, and you will receive an email notification when ready. Orders placed Sun eve – Tues will be ready for pickup at the shop Thurs. Special pickups can be arranged for Mon – Wed if needed, and Curbside pickup can be requested in the order notes.
Make a note of gifts in the order notes, and we will remove prices, and package in a gift bag. If buying a card, we can write a note as directed and package with the gift as well.
Material Care
CERAMIC
STONEWARE & PORCELAIN (ie Wrf Mugs, Zero Japan teapots, Hasami porcelain) – top rack dishwasher and microwave safe. Handle with care, do not overheat or heat without water. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or steel wool when washing by hand.
EARTHENWARE (ie Kjell Peterson Mugs) – Hand wash. Handle with care. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or steel wool when washing by hand.
GLASS
Most of our glassware is dishwasher safe. Wash in upper basket of dishwasher. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or steel wool when washing by hand.
If the glassware is made of heat-resistant glass (ie Sepia mugs), it is also microwave safe. Do not overheat or heat without water.
METAL
BRASS (trays, jewelry, ornaments, etc) – colors and texture will naturally change over time. To clean, wipe with a cloth, soak or wipe with white vinegar, rinse, and wipe dry to remove all moisture. A gentle brass cleaner can be used to restore shine.
SILVER & SILVER PLATED (jewelry) – storing it away from heat, light and humidity will help to prevent any oxidation that naturally occurs. To clean, wipe gently with a damp cloth. If tarnish occurs wipe gently with polishing cloth. Mild soap and warm water can be used for a deeper cleaning. A gentle silver cleaner can be used to restore shine. Wipe dry fully.
GOLD & GOLD PLATED (jewelry) – storing it away from heat, light and humidity will help to prevent any oxidation that naturally occurs. To clean, wipe gently with a damp cloth. If tarnish occurs wipe gently with polishing cloth. Mild soap and warm water can be used for a deeper cleaning. A gentle gold cleaner can be used to restore shine. Wipe dry fully.
CARBON STEEL (Kujira Whale Knives) – Carbon steel knives are not stainless, and not rust proof. Do not immerse in water or leave wet. Wipe dry, apply light oil occasionally.
CAST IRON (bottle openers and trivets) – Hand wash, dry fully with a soft cloth. Do not immerse in water or leave wet.
ENAMELWARE (mugs, utensils, etc) – Hand wash, wipe dry. Do not immerse in water or leave wet.
TEXTILES
LINEN & COTTON (kitchen cloths and napkins) can be machine washed gentle cold and dried low.
PLUSHIES All stuffed animals can be machine washed gentle cold and line dried.
WOOD
ALL WOOD (cutting boards, spoons or wood objects) should not be placed in dishwasher or soak in water. Hand wash, and dry well after use and store in a dry place.
